3. HOW TO PLAY
============================================================
The Menus:
The Main Menu:
START Starts the game
LOAD Load saved games
OPTIONS Allows you to adjust keyboard, mouse, graphics and audio. The Default button restores all values to default.
Controls:
The game controls involve both the mouse and keyboard. You can customize the settings in the Main Menu under OPTIONS.
After the game starts and the first game scene is completed, the Dialog Menu appears. Click the dialog entry,
in this case Talk to Brian. This starts the conversation between Brian and Lula.
W-S-A-D-controls:
W = move forward
S = move back
A = move left
D = move right
You can make the character run by pressing the Left Shift key and W simultaneously. Camera and Character movement are controlled
by the mouse. You can customize the key and mouse controls at any time under OPTIONS in the Main Menu. You will also find a complete
list of key functions.
First Person View / Third Person View (Spacebar)
You can switch between the First and Third Person views at any time by hitting Space.
New Missions (TAB key):
At the start of each level, you are given a mission. You can display this mission with the TAB key.
The Mission Menu lists new and completed missions. Completed missions are marked with a red check.
Interacting with characters and objects (left mouse button):
All objects and characters with which you can interact are clearly marked. When you see a label, e.g. "Brian", you can
initiate all possible options, such as "Talk to Brian!", "Look at Brian!", etc., by left-clicking on the object or character.
For example, if you can pick up an object, the text "Pick up Bottle" is displayed. Objects can also be combined,
for example a cable and a VCR. If the cable is picked up and used on the VCR, it will be connected to the recorder. To
achieve this, you need to equip the cable and left-click on the VCR.
Inventory (right mouse button):
The inventory is accessed with the right mouse buttons.
Objects that you picked up are stored in the inventory. You can also find detailed descriptions of these objects here.
If you want to equip one of these objects, for example to unlock a door, simply left-click on the object, such as the key for
the door, in the inventory. Lula will now have the key in her hand. Now you can unlock the door in question by simply clicking on it.
If you want to return an object that Lula is holding to the inventory, open it with the right mouse button and click on the "Put Back"
button. This frees Lula's hands for other important jobs.
Saving and loading games (ESC):
Press ESC during game-play to open the Game Menu. If you want to save a game, choose Save. Left-click on New Saved Game and
then on RETURN. For easy identification of a saved game, a corresponding screen hot will be displayed next to it.
If you want to load a saved game, choose Load and then left-click on the saved game in question. After this, left-click
on Load or press RETURN. The saved game will be loaded.

5. TIPPS AND TRICKS
============================================================
If you get stuck, open the Mission Menu by pressing TAB. It also pays to have a look in the inventory (right mouse button).
Most of the time, you should find useful information this way. With the Spacebar (or ESC) you can skip texts you have already heard.
If the game does not run smoothly on your machine, you can set the game to a low resolution of 800x600 under Options/Graphics
in the Main Menu. This should enhance performance significantly. However, for these new settings to be applied, you need to
restart the game.
